A Greater Greener BIM (Building Information Modeling)

AIAS Student Competition

From Monday, January 18, 2010 until Friday, January 29, 2010 the Trespa Design Centre hosted an exhibit for the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) Student Design Competition. The exhibit was kicked-off on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 by a reception featuring a presentation by the team from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln who won first place for their entry.

International Building Performance Simulation Association – New York Chapter (IBPSA-NYC) Quarterly Meeting

This session presented the initial application of integrating daylight and energy analyses on projects to refine the energy savings calculation as well as to inform the glare potential of proposed design strategies. The Trespa Design Centre hosted IBPSA-NYC on Wednesday, January 13th at 6:00pm.

Independent Projects: Grant Opportunities and Artist’s Residency Programs for Architects & Designers Sponsored by The Architectural League

The Trespa Design Centre hosted the Architectural League on Thursday, January 7th at 7pm. Anne Van Ingen, Director, Architecture, Planning & Design Program and Capital Projects New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) outlined this year’s grant application process. Two past winners of League-sponsored NYSCA grants presented their research.

Vector Works: 3D Modeling and Detailing of Interiors

The Trespa Design Center hosted 3D modeling and detailing of interiors using some basic 3D tools of Vectorworks on December 3rd at 6pm. There was also a brief introduction to some of the additional tools available with Vectorworks interiorcad, a 3rd party plug-in.
